Greg “MR.BIGSTUFF” Campbell had his first shot towards fame at the age of 16 in the legendary Canadian rap group from Ottawa, ON. Organized Rhyme. Along with comedian Tom Green, they went on to win a Canadian Music Award for Best Rap Video and a Juno nomination for Best Rap Group back in 1992. After 2 videos, many local gigs, a few small tours, including shows with Canadian legends; The Barenaked Ladies, The Dream Warriors, Maestro Fresh-Wes, KISH, the group disbanded.
The next move was to Vancouver in ’93. “BIGSTUFF” as Greg is generally known, began a career as a music producer and went on to work with many underground as well as main stream artists. The PMan, Vic Vodka, Ice-T, B-Legit to name a few.
He also fronted and produced a 8 to 10 piece Electro Funk Rock band known as the “Mr.Bigstuff & The Bigstuff Production. Through plenty of gig’ing and promotion, they became one of the more popular bands in the Vancouver scene between 1999 and 2002. The group was featured on local TV, had song placement in television as well as the number 3 winner out of 50 bands in a battle put on my local radio station CFOX. Greg won the award for Best Performer.
Following the end of “The Bigstuff Production” Greg began to work again with other groups including Stinkmitt, which he went on to produce, perform and tour with. This project brought some of the freshest music out there!
The last few years after a move back to his hometown of Ottawa has brought a fresh perspective on things as Greg has begun a lot of remix work and Dj’ing throughout Canada. He has also licensed over 50 songs to film & television.
BIGSTUFF has always been known for his distinctive dirty electronic beats and heavy drum sound accompanied by fantastic yet sometimes twisted melodies and harmonics.
