Every Saturday from 1am to 6am it’s a high energy mix of hands up trance mixed live at club 816in Vancouver BC by legendary Producer DJ Lace.

Starting with a couple sl210s and a TR-808 in the eighties Lace’s gear list alone would fill a fewBios. With 5 albums, 20 12” singles, various remixes, digital releases & an extensive, pioneeringlive performance career Lace is a larger than life figure in the west coast electronic scene.

An avid gear head & synth collector he currently operates one of Vancouver’s biggest electronicmusic recording studios (Canmarc.ca) and spins at Club 816.

Club816 in Vancouver is known for having an unsurpassed European dance sound with thumpingbass and crazy visuals. Locals call it the “bassment” due to lace’s custom designed and built 6 foot tall quad driver bass bins.
“Locals used to call it “downstairs” a few years back…” Says Lace, “… Then I built these massivebass towers which vibrated everyone’s eyeballs when I turned them up. Everyone started called itBassment after that.”

Lace cranks it up to full party zone on Saturdays with original and custom remixes of the biggest European club tracks.
“I played remix compilations like Hot trax and rhythm sticks in the 80s..” He explains, “…Then I got into doing my own spliced mixes on a 4 track reel to reel. I’ve been doing my own remixesever since. Now I do it digitally which allows me to remix and re-edit a lot more tracks everyweek. “

There is no other club that sounds or looks like club 816 in Vancouver and with Lace at the decks; there is no other night like a “Bassment” Saturday. But you don’t have to be in Vancouver to catch that special sound.
