A highly respected musical mad scientist, Psychology has been experimenting and contributing to his chosen artform for over 20 years and with such dedication and understanding one can’t help but wonder if it wasn’t the artform that in fact chose him rather than the other way around. Lucky to have been thoroughly exposed to a variety of music from a very young age, Psychology made the most of his experience exploring, experimenting and studying his field with a passion that can’t be learned. Siting childhood milestones such as getting his hands on the “Thriller” album and hearing Herbie Hancock’s “Rockit”, the future party rocker went on to be influenced by a variety of masters such as Jazzy Jeff, Daft Punk, Kanye, Brian Wilson and Radiohead to name but a few. The result is a combination Renaissance man with a passion for vinyl and futuristic trailblazer with his dedication to the latest in music/dj culture.
Whether it’s been fortune or fate, a life’s worth of influence, perseverance and talent have helped shape one of the countries truly original virtuosos behind the decks and in the studio. From his weekly radio show to opening for international superstars such as Nas, Slum Village, Hillary Duff, Cypress Hill or Grammy award winners The Roots, Psychology has emerged as an artist with a truly unique and versatile sound. His ability to read a crowd an deliver a packed dancefloor has made him a heavily recruited name for major events and residencies in his hometown of Montreal as well as gigs across the country and abroad. Having been recently drafted by “The Sound Syndicate” team while his own resume of gigs and productions continues to soar, the future is looking very bright indeed for the musical student turned professor of the party known as Psychology.
Tune in to DJ Psychology Tuesday from 9-10pm on Sound Syndicate Radio
